How to Master Dune Climbing and Descending Safely

Understanding Dune Dynamics

Dunes are formed by wind, and their shape is constantly evolving. Learn to spot the windward side (gentler slope) versus the leeward (steeper side). This understanding helps you plan safe climbs and descents.

Climbing Techniques

Use momentum to your advantage. Approach dunes straight-on and maintain steady throttle. Avoid sharp turns or stopping mid-climb.Tips:- Use low gear for control- Don’t oversteer- Choose a path with minimal obstacles

Descending Techniques

Descend dunes slowly and in a straight line. Let the engine do the braking. Avoid using brakes suddenly, as it can cause the vehicle to slide.Always check what's at the bottom before starting a descent.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

- Cresting dunes at an angle- Turning on slopes- Overestimating vehicle capability- Following too closely behind another vehicle
